HEALING YOU CAN’T GET WRONG
Discover steadiness
in your healing.
Trauma therapy for those who are queer, neurodivergent, or simply human.
I see adults virtually throughout Texas.
Maybe people have treated you as ‘too much,’ ‘too loud,’ or ‘too sensitive’ and you have found yourself shrinking to gain love and acceptance.
Maybe you have never felt safe enough to be your true self.
Maybe you change who you are to avoid rejection.
Maybe you have no idea who you are because you’ve long tried to be who people expected you to be.
Or maybe you believe who you are will never be good enough.
You’ve tried the coping skills, the breathing exercises, the distractions, the self-help books, and maybe even therapy.
But nothing seems to “work.”
You have done all the “right” things, and maybe even some “wrong” things to find relief and nothing helps. So you feel broken beyond repair.
You make sense.
How you feel.
How you see yourself.
How you see others.
How you see the world.
It all makes sense in the context of your life experience.

HI, I'M DEVAN (THEY/THEM).

HI, I'M DEVAN (THEY/THEM).
I understand what it’s like to be misunderstood, to be prejudged, to not be seen for who you truly are, to be mistreated.
I do this work because I know first hand change can happen.
I’ve experienced feeling broken beyond repair, intense emotions I couldn’t manage, and doing everything needed to claw my way back to an internal sense of stability.
It’s hard, grueling work.
But I’m so very glad I did it.
Often we think change happens in big, dramatic ways.
The truth is, it’s small shifts that add up over time.
With trauma work, it can feel like it’s no big deal to manage an emotion, or get out of bed, or tell someone your need.
But it’s those small shifts that seem like no big deal that do lead to dramatic changes.
My role is to adjust, tweak, and modify therapeutic approaches to what works for you specifically so that you are able to have those small shifts.
SOME OF MY SPECAILITES
-
Sometimes knowing something is true doesn’t mean you feel it is true. EMDR Therapy offers a way to process painful memories so that how you feel can start to align with what you already know.
-
With trauma therapy, it’s not about drudging up every detail of your past and more about getting to the underlying root that keeps you feeling stuck.
-
This is often a misunderstood experience, even with some professionals. It can sound big and scary, but all it really means is that the brain has learned to ‘nope’ right out of being present. This can sometimes look like losing time, spacing out, feeling disconnected from yourself, or feeling like you are on autopilot.
-
Sometimes, or even regularly, emotions can feel out of proportion to what is happening. This can look like going from 0 to 100 in a matter of seconds, your emotions always being in charge, feeling everything so deeply, and believing you are “dramatic.”
-
You might often feel like an outsider, believing you have to be different in order to find belonging. As you struggle for acceptance you realize you don’t really know yourself.
-
You are celebrated in this space. Your joy, your heartaches, your struggles, your victories. You won’t have to tiptoe around who you are.
